SCHOOL TALKS!
I've had a great time visiting local schools this summer and enjoying meeting the pupils. I met a lively group of girls at St Hilda's in Harpenden where I gave a couple of short workshops on starting and working on a creative writing. The feedback was that they were enthused and couldn't wait to start their own stories. Comments like that make it all worthwhile.
Another school I visited to talk about Stone Arrows was my own childhood primary school, Templewood in Welwyn Garden City. The session was particularly valuable as the Year Three class teacher was reading it as their class text. There were so many questions that I wished the session had been longer, but hopefully it's piqued their interest to read more about prehistory.
