STONEHENGE
Last week I visited Stonehenge again. It was built over a number of years between around 3000BCE to 2200BCE. This is 4000 years later than the time my story, Stone Arrows, is set - 7000BCE. Interestingly, in the guide book it says that excavations carried out in 2008 produced dates ranging from the Mesolithic (Middle Stone Age), around 8000BCE, to Roman and later. The guide book says that this shows that the site and the area aorund it were being used both long before and long after its main period of construction and use. Maybe it became a spiritual place, long after the Stone Age people used it?
