WHOSE STORY IS IT? HOW TO WRITE POINT OF VIEW

By now you will have your characters - you will know the main ones, but have you decided who is telling the story? There are two main ways of writing point of view: first person (I) where you become the character whose story it is; third person (he, she,) where you are the narrator, telling their story for them. Obviously, first person is more intimate and your readers will feel closer to the character. But what about third person? This gives you more scope because as narrator you can use your own way of writing, remembering always that it's the character's story so you need to know them very well. If you want to tell your story from the point of view of more than one character, it's best if you have a break or new chapter, so that the readers know that you've changed perspective. These are the simplest ways to write and I'd recommend choosing one of these to begin with.
